It becomes in 2004 holder of the record of the round the world tour as a recluse in 72 days, 22 hours, 54 minutes and 22 seconds, 20 day old leaf the preceding record. It barred the Trimaran of 27,4 meters Idec and carries out an average of 15,5 nodes.

The July 6th 2005, Idec , skippé by Francis Joyon, passes the finishing line between Cape Lizard and Ushant 6j 4:1 min and 37s after the departure of the Phare of Ambrose to broad of New York. The Breton one thus beats the record of the crossing of the Atlantic of Laurent Bourgnon, 11 years an old record. During the crossing, it also beats the record of the longest distance on 24:00 as a recluse by traversing 543 miles nautical at the time of the day of the July 3rd 2005.
