Francis Charles Robert the Jordan

The reverend Francis Charles Robert the Jordan is a ornithologist British, specialist in eggs, born in 1865 with Ashbourne (Derbyshire) and died in 1940.

He makes his studies with the Magdalen College of Oxford where it is ordered priest in 1890. He leads the first forwarding of the Université of Oxford to the Spitzberg and often travels in Europe and North Africa. He is member of the zoological Société of London, of the British Ornithologists' Union, founder of British Oological Association (which will change its name into Société the Jordan after its death).

He chairs Oxford Ornithological Society and various others learned societies ornithological. He constitutes one of the most important egg collections private of Europe.
