Francine Shapiro

Francine Shapiro is a behavioral therapeutist American founder of the method EMDR (Movement of the eyes, desensitizing and reprocessing of information)

Doctor in psychology with the Mental Research Institute of Palo Alto, it discovers the E.M.D.R. in 1987. It initially applies it to a group of volunteers then to veterans of Vietnam before publishing the results in 1989 of them.

In 2002, it receives the Prix Sigmund Freud for its contribution with psychotherapy.
