Francesco Maria Veracini born the 1690 and dead the October 31st 1768 with Florence was a Violoniste and Italian type-setter.
In 1714 Veracini was in London as a violonist in Queen' S Theater and played there of the interludes. Set out again towards Venice, it dedicated a collection of sonatas for the violin to prince Friedrich August, wire of king de Saxe, as well as a second collection in 1721. This prince was a particularly enlightened amateur and it made come Veracini to Dresden so that this one there interprets chamber music, in its company, and organizes the arrival of singers so that they occur with the opera of Dresden. It is at the time of an argument implying the type-setter Johann David Heinichen and the Senesino castrato that Veracini jumped of anger by the window of the second stage, and was wounded, which made it limp as from this moment.
It returned in its birthplace in 1723 to become musician of church there; it composed a oratorio there. For this period, it was made a whimsical reputation of spirit and was called “insane head”. The violonist, proud and eccentric, named “Pierre” and “Paul” his two violins of the famous violin maker Jakobus Stainer.
In 1733, it went back to London to give many concerts to it. It composed there several operas among which Adriano in Siria , Clemenza di Tito and Rosalinda (this last in 1738). The same year, the lack of success made him leave London. On the way of the return, its boat made shipwreck in the English Channel, but it was saved. It turned over definitively to Florence, is established as choirmaster of several churches and devoted themselves there to the sacred music. During the last years of its life, it frequently occurred as violonist and leader.
