Francesco Dandolo is the 52ème Doge de Venise elected in 1328, doge of 1328 with 1339.

It had received the nickname of Chien to be itself presented (in 1323) to the pope Clément V with a chain with the neck, by begging it to withdraw an excommunication which the pontiff had launched against the republic. Under its reign, Venice removed at the house Della Scala the towns of Trévise, Ceneda and Conegliano.
