Francesco Conti (Florence, 1681 - Florence, 1760) is an Italian painter of the school florentine.

Biography

Formed to Florence in the circle of Simone Pignoni, it leaves then to Rome as raises, up to 1700, of Giovanni Maria Morandi and Carlo Maratta.

It is constant, during all its artistic life, by the marquis Riccardi, who ordered many works to him.

Influenced by Sebastiano Ricci, it gives up the Roman classicism to increase its chromatic range and to develop light-obscure, a style which characterizes the remainder of its production. Its fabrics are often retables for town churches and the parochial ones of the countryside, and in all his production one notes the Transito di San Giuseppe of San Martino in Gangalandi]] (1733-1734), the San Rocco in gloria in Santa Maria went Lastra, the Santi Pietro E Paolo di Santo Stefano with Cortine, where figure the armorial bearings of Riccardi (now exposed to the Museum of Sacred art of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
