Francesco da Ponte known as Francesco Bassano Old the (Vicenza, C. 1475 - Bassano del Grappa, 1530) is an Italian painter, the patriarch of the line of painters Bassano.
After a training in Venice, it is established with Bassano del Grappa and was a tag-along of the style of Giovanni Bellini.
It painted a Saint Bartholomée for the cathedral of Bassano a retable for the church San Giovanni, and a Deposition for the church of Oliero, Frazione of Valstagna.
His/her son, Jacopo Bassano became a painter recognized in Venice and in Venezia and installed a workshop with Bassano with his four sons.
