Francesco Angelo Facchini

Francesco Angelo Facchini is a Médecin and a Italian Botaniste , born the October 24th 1788 with Forno di Fiemme (Trentin) and dead the October 6th 1852 with San Giovanni di Fassa (Trentin).

This wire of easy peasant makes his elementary studies with Forno, then in Cavalese and Carana of 1803 with 1805. It leaves then to Thirty to study the Humanités there. In order to improve its control of the German and its formation, it initially leaves to In 1806 to 1808 then to Munich where it studies the Physique, the Philologie. It obtains there, probably but certain sources dispute it, it obtains a license of philosophy.

In 1813, it decides to study the Médecine, in particular because that enables him to make Botanique. As from December 1814, it studies in Padoue and Pavia. His/her father dies then. He devotes his heritage to the continuation of his studies. The sources are dubious on the place and the date of its obtaining diploma for the occupation of doctor of medicine like exercise of medicine (Padoue or Pavia, 1815 or before this date).

It returns in its native area in 1817 and exerts there medicine but also the veterinary art. In 1821, it settles with Vigo di Fassa. In 1837, it is established with Moena and gives up the medical practice almost completely to be devoted almost entirely to the Botanique. It makes appear in 1838 its Memoria contenente alcune considerazioni geologico-botaniche will sopra the valle di Fassa E di Fiemme nel Tirolo italiano . It receives, the August 7th 1841, the visit of the king Frederic-Auguste II of Saxony (1797-1854).

The companies of botany of Altenbourg and Regensburg rewards it for a diploma in 1842, for the first, and 1845, for the second. He dies brutally of one tumor to the Estomac. He bequeaths his scientific documents to Francesco Ambrosi (1821-1897). Its posthumous work, Flora Tiroliae cisalpinae , is published by the care of Franz von Hausmann zu Stetten (1810-1878) in 1855 (and republished in 1989).
