Francesc Sabaté Llopart

Born on March 30th, 1915 from Handbook Sabaté Escoda and Madrona Llopart Batlle, Francisco “Quico” Sabaté was militant a anarchistic particularly known to have faced the pro-Franco dictatorship, by actions downtown with discovered face, mainly soldiers. (urban Maquis, whose nowadays still memory remains.)

Among the militants of the maquis, " Quico" Sabaté was the most popular figure a long time.

He was assassinated by a militia armed by the pro-Franco mode, in a station of the line of France, on January 5th, 1960 at eight hours and half of the morning (Station of Sant Celoni).

Francisco “Quico” Sabaté was affiliated with CNT (organization anarchist-trade unionist) as of its entry in the working life and well before the proclamation of the Republic, on April 14th, 1931.
