France Blue is a network of public radios French. The national contents are relayed by the local stations in the areas and the departments. It belongs to the public group Radio France. In this group, it can be compared with France 3 within France televisions because of its local mission.

The Parisian station of France Blue was the Cityradio of Paris , it now took the denomination of France Blue Ile-de-France the other stations bear the name of France Blue associated with their localization (area, department, city).

History

It is in 1980 that Radio France with the authorization to create three local radios: Northern frequency, Radio operator Mayenne and Melun FM. (This last station was amalgamated with the Cityradio to create France Blue Ile-de-France the January 2nd 2006). Twenty-nine others are created starting from the local radios managed by FR3 since 1975 and the end of ORTF, in more six news ex nihilo . They diffuse on half of the metropolitan France.

The September 4th 2000, the local radios of Radio France are joined together in the network France Blue which provides a national program common that the local programs of the stations in areas take again.
