FranSSe (France with two S printed like the initial ones of the Schutzstaffel (S)) is a piece of Mr R (Richard Makela) (on the album Politikment Incorrekt ) which is the subject of a polemic. Engaged singer, it was accused of incentive to the Haine against the French and of Sexisme towards the women, from one of his songs and his clip, “FranSSe”.

The polemic

The clip of the song was very criticized. Indeed, at the time of the refrain, where Mr R sings: “ France is a bitchy girl does not forget to kiss it, until exhausting it, as a bitch is necessary to treat it ”, one sees two white women with the naked centres there carrying only one very hardly visible panties, by agitating a French Drapeau.

In addition, the France is compared there with the mode Nazi: “ My brothers Musulman S are hate, like my brothers Juif S at the time of the Reich, of the Germany of the Nazis. ”

The rappor states to stigmatize with the leaders speaking in the name of France, which he shows of Néo-colonialisme, and of going to wrong way of the values of opening of its country of adoption. In the clip, it includes in particular extracts of the speech of Jacques Chirac at the time of her election in 1995, or of a meeting between the president and the former discussed dictator of the Zaire, Mobutu Sese Seko.

A trade union of police force, Action Organizes CFTC, with the name of which Michel Thooris spoke, estimating that the police officers were insulted by the aforementioned album, the rapor in justice for incentive with terrorism attacked (islamist near to “ Al-Quaïda ” appearing on the clip, to stigmatize the “ Islamophobie ” according to blamed).

Mr R was under the blow of legal proceedings aiming at censuring his album, which arrived in 2003 at the group Sniper. In the case of Mr R, the legal action was declared inadmissible (the verdict was returned the June 26th 2006).

A political and committed clip

The whole of the clip takes again some of the traditional codes of the clips of Rap: stripped young women have behaviors évocatifs specific to the codes of the films Porno S throughout the clip. Certain codes are reinterpreted: instead of the traditional luxury car, the young women déhanchent themselves on the cap of a car of the type military SUV. The rappor Mr R does not carry the cap of rappor, but a kepi. He carries the uniform of the Foreign legion.

The clip opens on the words of Jacques Chirac at the time of her speech of election in 1995, where it evokes the universality of the message of France, that it intends to carry abroad. Images of a tv news of the intervention of the French Army in Ivory Coast ravel then, where one sees people there running and shouting of fear to the sound of a shooting initiated by the soldiers. Mr R begins his rap with his words while specifying: “ When I speak about France, I do not speak about French people, but about the leaders of the French State ”, and he points out the periods of the Esclavage and the Colonisation.

Mr R refuses racism related to the color of the skin: “ If to be French, it is a question of color, you include/understand why my hatred takes its source in the pain . ”

He denounces in bulk discriminations at the time of recruitment, the sales of weapons in Africa, the unemployment which is propagated, as well as the problems of orientation of state education. He denounces France which speaks about the Human rights, whereas it according to him gave birth to imperial modes and colonialists, Mr R quotes here Napoleon and Charles de Gaulle.

He asks France not to forget that one will need well that the future is built together, with all the French, and that France also belongs to the French resulting from immigration.

This refusal of discrimination by the skin color, associated with the refusal of differences based on the origin and the will to build a future commun run are topics universalists and republicans.

The clip finishes on an image of Jacques Chirac kissing and congratulating the general Mobutu in 1998, whereas the text ravels: “ Mobutu Marshal, sanguinary dictator who reigned during more than 30 years, in Democratic republic of Congo. During its reign, he assassinated hundreds of thousands of civilians like all his political opponents. ”
