François of the Manor house

Resulting from a Parisian family and a line of polytechnicians, François Etienne of the Manor house (known under the name of Ducastel ) entered with X during the war, in 1943. In the interpretation of these new phenomena, it acquires with the team of the Hundred a good world famous, supported on original experiments, initially between the continent and Corsica, then in Africa. François of the Manor house translates this asset in a book published in 1960 in the Collection of the Hundred.

In 1959, it takes part in creation within the One hundred of a new department of space research , RSR. It takes an active share with all successes obtained, in particular as a person in charge of the project of Franco-Soviet satellite Roseau , first embarked computer satellite.

This big part in successes of the CRPE (laboratory common CENT-CNRS) is worth to him to be proposed by his/her colleagues geophysicists with the elections with the Section of astronomy and geophysics of the National center of the scientific research, section of which he is elected president in 1966.
