François de Bulkeley
The count François de Bulkeley , is an officer of English origin, lieutenant general with the service of king de France and governor of Saint-Jean-Foot-of-Port, born with London the September 11th 1686 and deceased the January 14th 1756. He was knight of the Saint Spirit (February 2nd, 1748).
He came to France in 1700 and was used under the marshal as Berwick, passing by all the ranks until that of lieutenant-general. He took share with forwarding in Scotland of the old pretender in 1715 and 1716. He was colonel owner of a regiment of Irish infantry of his name which was illustrated in Fontenoy and which he had the permission to transmit to his son before dying.

- 1719: Sergeant of the armies of the king in February 1719,
- 1733: Colonel of the regiment of Irish infantry to her name (Regiment Bulkeley),
- Named Brigadier in February 1734,
- 1738: General lieutenant of the armies of the king,
- 1748: Knight of the orders of the king,
- 1751: Governor of Saint-Jean-Foot-of-port.
Family
- Wire of Henry de Bulkeley and Sophie Stewart, married to Marie-Anne O' Mahony, widow of Richard Cantillon, resulting from a first marriage of Daniel O' Mahony with Cecilia Weld.
