François Vautier

François Vautier , born in 1589 with Arles and died in 1652 with Paris, is a Médecin and Botaniste French.
Vautier obtains his title of doctor in 1612 with Montpellier. He is the personal doctor and a close relation of Marie de Médicis, which displeases with Richelieu and what is worth the prison to him. Released after the death of the cardinal in 1642, he becomes the first doctor of Louis XIV in 1646. He is superintendent of the Jardin of the king and introduced there the teaching of the Anatomie. Vautier is one of the first to use bark of Quinquina.
