François Thual

François Thual is a French geopolitologist.

Functions, course

Former civil civil servant of the Ministry for defense and having worked in several ministerial cabinets, it taught the geopolitics of the religions to the College interarmées of defense and wrote or Co-writing about thirty dedicated works primarily to the method Géopolitique and his application to various regions of the world. It in particular was interested in the religions orthodoxe, Chiite and Bouddhiste, like with several areas disturbed like the the Caucasus.

It is currently to advise with the Sénat and teaches with the College interarmes defense like at the Practical School of the High Studies.

Its work counts in a revival of neo-realist French geopolitics. It in particular inspired Aymeric Chauprade to which it is very close and who succeeded to him the pulpit of geopolitics of the School of War.
