François Seydoux de Clausonne

François Seydoux Fornier de Clausonne , born with Berlin (Germany) the February 15th 1905 and dead the August 30th 1981, was a diplomat French.

Grandson, wire, brother and father-in-law of diplomats, he studied the Philosophie and the Droit before embracing in 1928 the diplomatic career.

Embassy secretary from France to Berlin in 1936, it enters in 1936 to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In 1942, it returns in the Résistance.

He is director of the Businesses of Europe at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1949, ambassador from France in Vienna in 1955, and especially ambassador from France in Berlin of 1958 with 1962 then of 1965 with 1970. Its role in the conclusion of the treated of the Elysium will be worth to him to receive in 1970 the Charlemagne international prize of the town of Aachen.

Thereafter, it was |to advise State and exerted functions of administrator within the agency Havas, of the Office of broadcasting French television (ORTF) or of the superior council of the Agence France-Press.

During ten years, it also held a chronicle in the Revue of the Two Worlds .

François Seydoux de Clausonne left three works which report its diplomatic experiments and come to testify one mainly completed time: In the Franco-German intimacy (1977), Memories of beyond the rhine (1975) and the Trade of diplomat (1980).
