François Rebel is a type-setter and interprets French, born in Paris the June 19th 1701 and dead the November 7th 1775.
Born in a family from musicians, wire of Jean-Féry Rebel, he is violonist in the orchestra of the royal Académie of Music as from 1714. He is named Surintendant of the music in 1749, and he directs the Concert of sacred music in 1742 and the Opéra of Paris with his friend François Francœur of 1757 to 1767. He composed much of operas (in collaboration with François Francoeur) and of the sacred music. He again directs the Opera of 1772 to 1775.
