François Nicolas Fririon , born the February 7th 1766, with Vandières (Meurthe), is a French soldier.

He entered to the service in 1782, like volunteer, major in 1794; adjudant-general in 1796; it in this quality was sent to the Armée with Helvétie, in Italy, under Schérer. Pointed out on the the Rhine in 1799, Moreau named it Brigadier general on the field of Bataille of Hohenlinden.

It was with the peace ordering of the Département of the Low-Rhine (180 2), and was used later for the Armée with Italy under Masséna, then in Denmark. It ordered a brigade of the Large army to Essling. The marshal Lannes, present at his operations during this day, says to him: “ General, you cover yourselves glory, you and your brigade; I will give an account of your control to the Emperor. ” Fririon was still distinguished with the Passage from the Danube, Wagram and the Pont of Znaïm.

The Emperor granted to him the Major general patent of and titrates it of baron with a supplement of equipment.

In 1810 he was chief of the general staff in Portugal.

Returned in France, he became inspector of the 16th military division. Under the Restoration, it fulfills the functions of general inspector of infantry.

He died the May 24th 1821. Its name is registered on the Triumphal arch of the Star, east coast.
