François Missoffe
François Missoffe (born the October 13rd 1919 with Toulon, dead the August 28th 2003 with Rouen) was a Politician French.
Career
He was Secretary of State, responsible for the Domestic trade, in the government of Michel Debré then in the first government of Georges Pompidou. He becomes then Secretary of State, charged with the Rapatriés, in the Second government of Georges Pompidou until the July 23rd 1964 date on which its mission of reception of a million repatriates is completed.
He then becomes Ambassadeur of France to the Japan.
In 1966, it returns as Minister for the Youth and the Sports of 1966 to 1968 in the third and fourth governments Pompidou. It is the first time that “Youth and Sports” become a ministry, Maurice Herzog, which it succeeds, being only Secretary of State. The January 8th 1968 during the inauguration of the swimming pool of the campus of Nanterre, it is taken with part by the students and it meets for the first time Daniel Cohn-Bendit. This incident is regarded as a prelude to May 1968.
He was also appointed of Paris in the 17th district of 1958 with 1961, of 1962 with 1963, of 1968 with 1974, seat which he will then yield to his wife, Helene Missoffe.
Family life
Father of eight children whose Francoise de Panafieu and Alain Missoffe, he is the husband of Helene Missoffe and the brother-in-law of Jean François-Poncet.
