François Maximilien Ossolinski ( Franciszek Maksymilian Ossoliński in Polish) was born on April 2nd, 1676, of Maximilien Ossolinski and Catherine Jablonowska, girl of Stanislas Jean Jablonowski.

He was secretary of the king Auguste II of Poland.

In 1733, it signed the election of Stanislas Leszczynski like King de Pologne.

In 1736, he refused to submit himself to the king Auguste III of Poland, and followed the king Stanislas Leszczynski to the court of Lunéville. He was great chamberlain of Stanislas Leszczynski, Duc of Lorraine and Bar.

He died on July 1st, 1756 with the castle of Malgrange with Jarville-la-Malgrange in Lorraine. Its tomb is in the church Our-Lady-in-Bonsecours Nancy.

Its library is at the origin of the Ossolineum or Ossolinski Institute (formally founded in 1817 by Joseph Maximilien Ossolinski) with Léopol.
