François Mauriceau

François Mauriceau , born in 1637, dead on October 17th 1709, is a Médecin French.

Master Surgery N, and first obstetrician of the Maternity of Paris, Mauriceau gave to the Obstétrique his noble letters by making some a speciality with share.

  • Diseases of the large and been confined Women. With the good one and true Method to help them well in their accouchemens natural, & means of curing all those which are against-nature, & the indispositions of the new-born Enfans Paris Henault, of Houry, of Ninville, Coignard 1668. Its work, which was translated into several languages, brings innovations to the traditional practice: he insists on the need for knowing the Anatomie and the Physiologie, prefers the Accouchement in a bed rather than on the chair Obstétricale, he analyzes the conformation of the basin, the movements fetal, the rolling up of the cord around the neck, etc
  • Observations on the pregnancy and the childbirth of the women and on their diseases and those of the enfans new-nose . Paris, Anisson, 1694.
