François Mauriceau

François Mauriceau , born in 1637, dead on October 17th 1709, is a Médecin French.

Master Surgery N, and first obstetrician of the Maternity of Paris, Mauriceau gave to the Obstétrique his noble letters by making some a speciality with share.

Its work, which was translated into several languages, brings innovations to the traditional practice: he insists on the need for knowing the Anatomie and the Physiologie, prefers the Accouchement in a bed rather than on the chair Obstétricale, he analyzes the conformation of the basin, the movements fetal, the rolling up of the cord around the neck, etc
