François Marcela-Froideval is the founder of the first Magazine French of Roleplay, and is a scenario writer of Cartoon.

Biography

It follows studies of letters and right.

François Marcela-Froideval is for a great share responsible for the introduction of the Roleplay in France: he is the creator of the famous club of the street of Ulm and one of the founders of the magazine Casus Belli.

Beginning its professional path like “ludologist” at Excelsior Publications (i.e. de facto publication director of the plays for the editor Jeux Descartes), it also takes part in the design of the newspaper Jeux & Stratégie (which belongs to the same group) and creates the French federation of the plays of strategic and tactical simulation, of which he will be the president.

It founds the magazine Casus Belli of which he will be editor association until his departure for the the United States.

In 1982, it leaves the France to become assisting of the president of TSR (Donjons and Dragons ™). There remain 4 years with the the United States, he Co-will write several of the books of rules of Advanced Dungeon and Dragons : the Monster Manual 2 and the Eastern Adventure , with Gary Gygax.

Of return in France, it deals of the distribution and the translation of products TSR in France until in 1989.

Then he works for Infogrames like advising on many programs, of which Drakkhen of which he will sign the scenario. He collaborates then with the team of Cryo Interactive for which it scénarise Dragonlore 1 then 2.

In all, it creates a score of plays, of which Ave Tenebrae and Fiefs and Empires , and many scenarios of Roleplays.

In 1988, it makes a passage flash in Pilote and Charlie , with the Ninja of the night and Cauchemar , with 2 boards drawn respectively by Henry Bismuth (now painter) and Tignous.

In 1989, it creates the first volume of the Chroniques of the black moon , fantastic cycle drawn by Olivier Ledroit and published at Zenda, taken again since by Dargaud. Starting from 1994 Cyril Pontet will take again the drawing.

He affirmed himself with the passing of years like the French specialist in the Héroïc-fantasy and the Fantastique in general.
