François Louis Michel Chemin of Forgues known as Deforgues , born with Transfers the September 29th 1759, died with Maincy (Seine-et-Marne) the September 10th 1840, is a Politician French.

Near to Danton, it belongs to the insurrectionary Commune of Paris, created the August 10th, 1792. It was Foreign Minister of June 21st 1793 at April 2nd 1794. Actually, it was only little occupied to lead the diplomatic businesses. Hébert said of him: Deforgues which holds the place of Foreign Minister and which one calls thus and which me I call foreign minister with the businesses!

Stopped with the dantonists, he escapes the guillotine and is released after the Thermidor 9.

He is named ambassador plenipotentiary near the Batavian République in October 1799 when he assists then succeeds Florent-Guiot. He is recalled after the 18 brumaire and is replaced by Charles-Louis Huguet de Sémonville. After the sale of the Louisiana in the United States in 1803, Deforgues is sent to La Nouvelle-Orléans like police chief of the commercial relations.
