François Legault

François Legault (May 26th 1957 with Holy-Anne-with-Bellevue -) is a politician Québécois and current the Député pequist of the district of Rousseau.

Biography

Having made its studies with the Cégep Gerald-Godin and the School of the high commercial studies of Montreal, it received a Maîtrise in administration of businesses and became Comptable approved.

Legault is at the beginning an administrator of Provigo and an inspector at Ernst & Young. It founds the company Air Deckchair in 1986 after having been the Marketing director of Québécair. He is the chairman of this company until in 1997, with a turnover of 1,3 billion and: 4000 employees. He manages then the Musée Marc-Aurèle Fortin during one year.

Political life

Elected for the first time in Rousseau with the 1998, he becomes the minister responsible for the technological innovation. Lucien Bouchard names it with the minister of education the same year. The 6 February 2002, it becomes the Minister for health. Its ministerial mandates supported the plans of performance for the institutions of education and health. He occupied the same ministerial positions as Pauline Marois.

Re-elected with the Québécois election of 2003, he is the spokesperson of the Official opposition (Quebec) for the Finances and the Economic development. He was had a presentiment of like a favorite to succeed Bernard Landry at the time of the race to the direction of the PQ in 2005, but he did not present himself to devote more time to his family. The organization which it built during 1 year before the departure of Mr. Landry is especially divided between the candidates André Boisclair and Richard Legendre, which M.Legault supported. However, Mr. Legault also gave money to the countryside of Andre Boisclair.

Its current political objective is to fight against the Fiscal imbalance. He is the author of a budget of sovereign Quebec which tries to prove that the sovereignty of Quebec is economically profitable.
