François Jourde

François Jourde was born the July 4th 1843 with Chassagne in the Puy-de-Dôme - and died in Nice in 1893). It is a personality of the Commune of Paris.

Clerk of notary, accountant in a bank then employed Bridge-and-Roadways of the Town of Paris.

Credit during the Common of Paris, it is delegated to the Central committee of the National guard (160 eme battalion). Well quickly its competences of manager are used in the colony, it is authorized to join Noumea in October 1873 where it finds an use of accountant. He founds with Juliette Lopez (partner of the doctor Rastoul) the Union , an assistance and mutual aid association to the deportees in the need.

He escapes in March 1874 with Achille Ballière, Charles Bastien, Paschal Grousset, Olivier Pain and Henri Rochefort. Installed in England, it takes part in a subscription intended for the victims of repression of Versailles. It settles with Strasbourg (then in Germany) then in Geneva, Brussels and London again. Returned to France after the Amnistie of 1880 it is shown particularly active in solidarity with the amnestied Communards.
