François Ier ( Mpanzu has Muzinga Ndo Fula in Kikongo, Francisco Ier in Portuguese) is the fourth Christian king of the Kongo.

Brother and immediate successor of Pierre I {{er}}, and consequently wire of Alphonse I {{er}}. It assembled on the throne in 1545, and was as dedicated as its two predecessors for the propagation of the faith and the extinction of the nonChristian beliefs; but he died after a transitory reign. Jacques I {{er}}, its nephew, replaced it on the throne.
