François Henri Guiot of Rochère
François Henri Guiot of Rochère (1818-1890) was a French general.
Biographical elements
He was born on November 18th, 1818 with Availles-Limouzine in the Vienna and died on April 12th, 1890 with the castle of Rochère, commune of Mouterre-on-Blourde (even department).Of noble origin, it is wire of François Henri Guiot and Louise Armande Dutheil.
It achieves a career of officer of cavalry. It takes part in the Campagne of Italy (1859).
Colonel of the 8th regiment of cuirassiers of 1869 to 1874, it leads its troop to the combat during the Guerre of 1870. It is with the head of its Escadron S at the time of famous and dramatic load of the cuirassiers with Reichshoffen, during which its regiment is destroyed.
It held a log book, still new, whose copy of the pages concerning the countryside of 1870 is deposited with the historical Service of defense.
It is promoted Brigadier general on November 4th, 1874 and orders the 1 {{E}} brigade of dragons. He is also Member of the Commission of cavalry before occupying the vice-presidency of the horse Commission of hygiene.
After its good-bye with the weapons in 1880, it becomes Maire of Mouterre.
He had married in Poitiers, on October 11th, 1852, Anne Joséphine de Launay, girl of Joseph de Launay, and Francoise Emilie Farran.
