François Gross is a Journaliste Suisse, born with Lausanne on March 18th, 1931. It is originating in Cressier-on-Morat, in the Canton of Freiburg.
Biography
Former student of the college of St-Maurice and the College St-Michel (Freiburg), it is laid off in political sciences of the Université of Lausanne, François Gross begins with the Gazette from Lausanne where it will be, in turn, writer, sub-editor, then correspondent with
Paris where it is favorable to the institutions and the founder of Ve République. In
1964, it leaves the written press for TSR. Until
1970, he is chief of the drafting in French language of Téléjournal in Zurich. It turns over to the written press and takes up the duty of editor association of
Freedom as of on July 1st
1970. It transforms this newspaper of a pledged body with the PDC and Evêché into a newspaper independent and opened with other sensitivities. It renovates the drafting and hoists its daily newspaper with the row of a newspaper of quality at the time when it celebrates its centenary (1971). Its incisive leading articles (approximately 1500) are feared of a medium which was rather accustomed to the brush to glitter. He assumes until 1990 this function. In parallel, it continues a career of teacher at the institute of journalism of the Université of Freiburg.
During the Nineties, he in parallel assumes the post of editor association of Radio international Switzerland in Bern and president To defer without borders - Switzerland, from which he is founding member. He also set up, in 1995, with Jean-Marie Etter and Philippe Dahinden, of the fellow-members journalists, the Fondation Swallow, an ONG Switzerland which creates media independent in zones of crises.
François Gross publishes a chronicle in regularly Time and exerts the function of mediator of 24 Hours.
