François Faber
François Faber (born the January 26th 1887 with Aulnay-on-Iton, the Eure - died the May 9th 1915 with Carency (Pas-de-Calais) is a runner cyclist of nationality Luxembourg eoise, victorious of the Tour de France in 1909.
Biography
- François Faber is the half-brother of Ernest Paul.
- Native of the Eure, François Faber was Luxembourg by his parents. Luxembourger of passport, Faber was in fact French of heart.
- professional Cyclist of 1906 to 1914 (27 victories), it was called the giant of Doves.
- Faber carries the colors of “Labor” in 1906 and 1907, passes to “Peugeot” in 1908, then joined “Alcyon” of 1909 with 1911. Member of the team “Automoto” in 1912, it finds “Peugeot” in 1913 and 1914.
