François Devosge , (or François III Devosge, or Claude François III) is a French painter born the January 25th 1732 with Gray, died the December 22nd 1811 with Dijon. His/her son: Anatole Devosge (1770-1850), painter him too.

His/her father Claude François Devosge (1697-1777) was sculptor and architect.

François Devosge was a portraitist and a painter of history, but will remain known for his role as a founder of the art school of Dijon. He had as raises François Rude, Pierre-Paul Prud' hon, Claude Hoin.
