François Châtelet
See also: Châtelet
Historian of philosophy, philosopher political and thinker of the history, François Châtelet , born in 1925 and deceased in 1985, was an exemplary professor in the great socratic tradition. He was the husband of the philosopher Noëlle Châtelet, the sister of Lionel Jospin.
In the beginning, with Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze, of the Department of philosophy of the University of Vincennes and cofounder of the international College of philosophy, it always had the concern of linking its thought and its action in a combat without respite of man engaged in his century.
Its design of philosophy makes of him not a philosopher but a historian of philosophy. In a history of the reason , it shows the role which philosophy in the constitution of modern Western rationality had. Its Plato is a formidable invitation-initiation with the thought of the famous Greek philosopher.
