Father François Catrou , French Jesuit, born with Paris in 1659, died in 1737, had a name like criticism.

He founded in 1701 the Journal of Trévoux , where he gave an account of the new works, and during twelve years the principal writer was.

  • Roman History , in 21 vol. in-4, 1725 - 1737.

Catrou also translated Virgile, but without more success.
