François Cassandre , French writer, died in 1695.
One owes him, inter alia writings, an estimated French translation of the Rhétorique of Aristote, 1654 and 1675. He lived in the Indigence; Nicolas Boileau, which liked it, often came to its help. It is him whom this poet painted in his first satire.
