François Nicolas Léonard Buzot , (born on March 1st 1760 with Évreux - died in June or July 1794, 30 meadow year II (June 18th, 1794), according to the parliamentary records, around St. Emilion) was a French politician who carried on his activity during the Révolution. He was member of the National Assembly constituent of 1789-1791 and appointed the Eure with the national Convention.

Lawyer with Évreux, it was elected appointed of the Tiers state with the General states by the Bailliage of Évreux in 1789. It will be high there a column on which will be this inscription: Ici was the asylum of the scélérat Buzot, which, representing of the people, conspired the loss of the French Republic ”.

The July 23rd, national Convention declared it treacherous with the fatherland. Continued and tracked with Pétion, he sought a shelter with Saint-Émilion, close to Bordeaux where he hid. Discovered, Buzot and Pétion wandered in the countryside and, according to historians, would have been poisoned. One found, in July 1794, their corpses with half devoured by the wolves.

Buzot left Mémoires which were published in 1823.
