François Bozize Yangouvonda (October 14th 1946 -) is a Central African politician , president since the coup d'etat of the March 15th 2003 which carried it to the capacity.

Engaged very early in the army, François Bozize becomes brigadier general under Jean Bédel Bokassa.

Under the military regime of the General Andre Kolingba, the Bozize General supports the opposition and foments a coup d'etat in 1982. Following the failure of this Bozize, coup d'etat and Angel-Felix Patassé, the political leader of the coup d'etat leave in exile to the Togo.

Ten years later, the Kolingba General, according to the movement started in the old French-speaking colonies, holds of the presidential elections free, multi-partites and equitable. Patassé is elected president.

With the passing of years Bozize becomes one of the strong men of the Patassé mode and especially her driving belt in the army. Bozize restores, with the military aid of the France, the calm one after the mutinies of 1996 and 1997. In front of the rise of dissatisfactions in the army, Patassé feels the need to give more capacities to Bozize by appointing it chief of staff of the Central African armies. Bozize is used honestly Patassé at the time of the very frequent mutinies and other coup attempts as State.

At the time of an other coup d'etat in May 2001 against more and more disputed Patassé, in fact the troops Libya do not ensure the safety of the president. The putsch fails but Bozize on the bolster, is disputed more and more in the entourage of the president, one reproaches him a participation in this attempt at inversion or all at least some leave-to make. Feeling to come its close end, Bozize flees the RCA for the close Chad with some troops.

Chad, Bozize carries out some incursions in RCA but anything worrying good for the capacity always wavering but from now on supported by the powerful Libyan army of president Patassé. The attempt at inversion of October 2002 fails, Patassé receiving in more the support of the Liberation movement of Congo MLC , a group of militiamans supported by the Uganda and credits in the civil war in Democratic republic of close Congo.

The support or all at least the Chadian benevolence with regard to the military activities of Bozize irritates Patassé at most point the, more especially as the Central African army is won over to the general in exile. Patassé shows its Chadian counterpart and seeks the assistance of the France to ensure its safety. On several occasions the old colonial power had already intervened to save the Patassé soldier but in front of the chronic instability of the RCA and the total lack of popular support, France politely drops Patassé.

The March 15th 2003, whereas Patassé is on a journey to the Niger, Bozize returns to the country and seizes Bangui without blow to férir. Patassé must then leave in exile to the Cameroun then to the Togo. Bozize becomes Head of the State and promises a sacro-saint process of standardization political for the return to the democracy. Democratic elections and multi-partites are promised by Bozize who fixes them, after several carryforwards which had with the update of the electoral rolls, with the February 13rd 2005.

After the riots of the Dreams in March 2004, the president Haiti in Jean-Bertrand Aristide is reversed and leaves in exile in RCA, accommodated by Bozize.
