April 27th 1932 in Tamatave, on the island of Madagascar. His/her father is colonial civil servant. The young boy will remain over there until the 14 years age. He fixes himself in France in
1946 and is established with

1954 to follow there the courses of the Academy under the direction of
Olivier Messiaen and
Pierre Schaeffer, then goes to

In 1975, the GRM is integrated within the new whole National institute of Audio-visual the (INA). François Bayle takes the head of this department, which it directs until in 1997. Its major technical contribution will undoubtedly remain the creation of the Acousmonium , orchestra of loudspeakers associated with powerful instruments of piloting making it possible to regulate the spatialization of the sounds finely. This instrument will offer a great freedom of expression and of realization to the artists working on the Musique electroacoustic and will be in the beginning the many works published in the Collection Ina-Grm , also created by François Bayle.
In 1997, François Bayle leaves the GRM and founds its own studio and the label Magison , where it will publish primarily his own works. It chairs the Symphonic Commission Music of SACEM since 2001.
