Biography

Origin, childhood and studies

François Claude Pierre Rene Baroin is the son of Michel Baroin (senior official, Business man and Large-Master of the Great East of France between 1977 and 1978) and of Michele Paulin.

Studying with the college Stanislas, with the college Claude-Bernard with Paris, then with the University Paris II the Pantheon-Assas, it is graduate of a of defense, of a OF the of information sciences, Institute of higher learning of management and a DEA of Géopolitique.

Since 2001, it is also lawyer at the bar of Paris.

Marriage, family, children

It is at the end of its studies that it loses back-to-back his father, in a crash landing of unexplained plane, and its sister, in an car accident. Jacques Chirac (Of which he is the godson) regards it as from this moment as his/her adoptive son.

François Baroin is divorced Valerie Broquisse, old journalist of the chain of information uninterrupted LCI, which he had married on April 12th, 1991. He is father of three children: Jules, Constancy, Louis. In December 2006, the daily newspaper France Soir and the weekly magazine Bon Week reveal its relation with the journalist Marie Drucker.

Professional path and political career

Located by Jean-Pierre Elkabbach during an emission of Apostrophes , it is recruited by this one as journalist with the political service of Europe 1, where it begins his career from 1988 with 1992.

In 1989, he becomes city council man (RPR) of Nogent-sur-Seine in the Aube, between with the National Assembly in 1993, of which he is the youngest deputy, then is elected mayor of Troyes in 1995. The same year he is elected president of the Association of the mayors of the Paddle. He is spokesperson of the presidential campaign 1995 of Jacques Chirac.

The same year it is appointed Secretary of State near the Prime Minister and spokesperson of the 1 {{er}} government of Alain Juppe, becoming thus the youngest child of the government. In 2001, François Baroin becomes president of the Communauté of agglomeration of Troyes (CAT) and administrator of the Musée of President-Jacques-Chirac in Corrèze.

He is re-elected appointed on June 16th, 2002, for the XII {{E}} legislature (2002 - 2007), in the 3rd district of the Aube. He is member of the UMP, of which he was the spokesperson under the presidency of Alain Juppe then general secretary delegated under the presidency by interim of Jean-Claude Gaudin. He was political adviser of Nicolas Sarkozy when he was president of UMP; he is president of the departmental committee of the UMP-Paddle and vice-president of the club Dialog & Initiative (chaired by Jean-Pierre Raffarin).

June 2nd, 2005, it was named Minister for Outre-mer in the Gouvernement Dominique de Villepin, then from March 26th, 2007 to May 18th, 2007, it provided the functions of Minister of Interior Department to replace Nicolas Sarkozy after the resignation of this last which wished to be devoted to the presidential campaign.

He is re-elected appointed on June 10th, 2007 with 55.71% of the voices in his district, as of the first turn.
