François Asensi , French politician, born on June 1st 1945 with Santander (Spain).

Mayor of Tremblay-in-France, it is re-elected appointed the June 17th 2007, for XIIIe legislature (2007 - 2012), in the 11th district of the Seine-Saint-Denis. Its substitute is the general adviser of Seine-Saint-Denis, elected with Villepinte, Nelly Roland Iriberry.

Refondator within the French Communist party, it did not have of cease to want to renovate the structures of his party in order to open this one with the modernity and the construction of a great movement on the left.

Near to Clémentine Autain, he proposed the candidature of this one for his party and the united collectives born of the referendum on the European constitution in order to present a candidature common to all the forces antilibérales for the presidential election of 2007.

But the LCR and PCF preferred to only launch out in the electoral battle. After having denounced this reflex identaire and having given its signature to Jose Bove for the presidential ones, it militates from now on for a recombining of the left between a social democrat pole and a pole of social transformation in which the communist sensitivity would be a major actor.
