François Antoine Kirmann , born the October 2nd 1768, with Bischoffsheinn (the Low-Rhine), military French.
It was useful initially like hussard in the regiment colonel-general, of the July 2nd 1785 until March 1st 1793, time to which it passed like marshal-of-home in the 20th regiment of hunters, where it was named marshal-of-home chief, second lieutenant and lieutenant on April 1st, June 6th of the same year and 11 brumaire year II.
It made all the campaigns of the French revolution of 1792 at year IX with the armies of North, of the the Ardennes, Sambre-and-Meuse, the Rhine-and-Moselle, Germany, Belgium and the the Rhine, and pointed out itself there by its chivalrous bravery.
Captain, the 1st messidor year II (June 19th 1794), it was distinguished, the 8 (June 26th 1794) of the same month, with the battles of Fleurus, where it was wounded of a shot to the jaw lower. The 2 meadow year VIII (May 22nd 1800), with the Combat of Erbach, the Kirman captain accepted the order of the general Decaen to go, with the 1st squadron, in front of the castle of Erbach; he supported there during more than one hour a sharp cannonade which made him lose 3 men and 8 horses. The artillery, placed at the left of the village of Delmesingeh, was compromised; the general sent Kirmann to support it. Hardly it had given an opinion that the enemy, extremely approximately of 800 men, tried against him a vigorous load in order to seize the parts. Kirmann supported this shock valorously, killed or wounded a great number of men to them, did some captive, and had of them, in this business, its horse wounded under him. A few moments after, it went on the village of Delmesingen, occupied by a battalion of enemy infantry, charged this column, strong intrepidly of approximately 500 men, only crossed it sabring on the right and on the left, removed its flag to him and made him put the weapons low. It continued, moreover, until under the enemy parts a group of reserve of cavalry and killed a great number of men to him. In the evening, it charged with forty men a body 600 enemy riders, crossed only the column twice different, killed five Austrians, wounded eight of them, and after having collapsed them and having forced to pass the the Danube, it returned with 12 prisoners. It was in this last load that it had a second horse killed under him of a shot.
The 25 frimaire year IX (December 16th 1800), with the Business of Neumarck, Kirmann accepted the order of the general Richepanse to charge, with the head of the regiment, on the Austrian infantry. It carried out this order with such an amount of promptitude and of precision which it collapsed the Austrians, put them in rout, and made, in this circumstance, 1.500 prisoners. It was wounded of a shot which carried annular left hand to him. The First consul, informed of the control of this officer, decreed a saber of honor to him the 19 fructidor year IX (September 6th 1801).
Employed with the Armed with the coasts of the Ocean in year XII and year XIII, and included/understood like member of right in the 5th troop of the Legion of honor, it was named by it officer the 25 meadow year XII (June 14th 1804).
Passed with the Large army, it made, with its accustomed bravery, the wars of Austria, Prussia and Poland of year XIV with 1807, and entered as captain the hunters to horse of the imperial Guard the May 8th 1807. Major the September 10th 1808, in the same regiment, it took the command of the company of Mamelukes which was attached there, and it is with the head of this body that it made the campaigns of 1809 in Germany, of 1810 and 1811 in Spain, under the orders of the general Dorsenne. Created knight, then Baron of the Empire, it took share with the Expédition of Russia as major major of the hunters with horse of the Guard, and was distinguished in all the combat which took place during this memorable war, in particular the October 24th 1812, with the Bataille of Malo-Jaroslawitz, where it was wounded of a blow of Biscaïen to the left hip.
During the Countryside of Saxony, ordering it Kirmann was still pointed out by its extraordinary bravery. The October 18th 1813, with the Battle of Leipzig, it was wounded of a blow of saber on the left cheek, which broke to him all the teeth of the upper jaw, another blow of saber on the head and several blows of lance in the belly.
In 1814, it took part in all the feats of arms which were like the last, good-byes of this troop of elite whose annals will always preserve the memory. Preserved at its body, after the Restoration, it was with the battles of Charleroi, Ligny and Mont Midsummer's Day in 1815, and gave everywhere the greatest evidence of courage and devotion.
Bachelor and proposed for the retirement the November 2nd 1818, it withdrew himself with Rosheinen (the Low-Rhine) where it was authorized with touching his pension by royal decree of the March 23rd 1816.
