François (Paul) Anthoine , born the February 28th 1860, deceased the December 25th 1944, is a French soldier during the First World War.

He is in Tonkin in 1885 - 1887 and becomes member of the technical Committee staff the September 24th 1911.

At the beginning of the hostilities in August 1914, he becomes chief of staff of the II {{E}} Armée (under the general De Castelnau), but he is named ordering ''' 20 {{E}} Division of Infantry ''' already the October 8th, station which he exerted until the September 10th 1915 when he receives the command of the ''' 10 {{E}} Army corps '''.

The March 25th 1917, it receives the command of the IV {{E}} Armée , with which it takes part in the offensive of Chemin of the Ladies in April and May, then of the I {{Re}} Armée the June 15th 1917. It takes part in the offensive of Flandres with this unit in October and November 1917, but it is named chief of general staff of the armies of North and the North-East the December 23rd 1917.

Near to the general Pétain he exerted this station until the July 5th 1918 when he is dismissed. Put of availability, he becomes Inspector-general of Work of the zone of the armies the October 31st 1918. He is also general commander of the trainings of prisoners of war in the released areas the March 20th 1919 April 1st 1920 when he new is put of availability.

He chairs the Commission of studies interarmes on harnessing the December 28th 1920 - June 16th 1921 when he passed to the framework of reserve.
