François Accurse (in Italian Accursio or Accorso da Bagnolo and in Latin Franciscus Accursius ) was called by its contemporaries the Idole of the jurisconsults . It was born with Florence in 1182, died in 1260.
He taught the right to Bologna and was one of renovating of science. He composed, under the title of the Grande Glose or Glose ordinary , a vast compilation in which he joins together the best decisions of the Jurisconsulte S his predecessors on the Roman law.
The best edition quoted by the Dictionnaire Bouillet at the 19th century is that of Denis Godefroy, Lyon, 1589, 6 folio volumes.
He is the father of Franciscus Accursius (1225-1293).
