François-Xavier-Antoine Labelle

François-Xavier-Antoine Labelle (November 24th 1833 with Holy-Rose-of-Lima - January 4th 1891 with Quebec) was a Québécois man of the church, the person in charge of the colonization of the Laurentides. It is called the cleaned Labelle , and sometimes, the king of North .

Born with Holy-Rose, the son of Maher Angelica and Antoine Labelle, not very prosperous, he studies with the seminar of Holy-Therese. The first years of its life are known little about, but it is known that he liked to read Auguste Nicolas and Joseph de Maistre. He adds François-Xavier to his name because he takes as a starting point Saint François-Xavier. It is ordered priest on June 1st 1856 after a short theological formation of 1852 with 1855. A large monument, works of the sculptor Alfred Laliberté, was set up in its honor in front of the Cathédrale of Saint-Jerome. Its life was the subject of a popular television serial called the Beautiful stories of Country-of in-High . The Boulevard Priest-Labelle, the municipality of Labelle, the regional Municipality of county of Antoine-Labelle and the faunal Réserve of Papineau-Labelle are named in its honor. In 1961 a secondary school will be built with Laval (Quebec) which will bear its name, very close to the park which bears its name, the park King-Of-North. The school Priest-Antoine-Labelle accommodates today more than 2600 pupils and more than 200 members of the personnel.
