François-Réal Angers

François-Réal Angers (Point-with-Tremble, Quebec November 20th, 1812 - Quebec, Quebec March 27th, 1860), is a lawyer, an author and a journalist Québécois of the 19th century. It is especially known for its fictionalized account the Revelations of the crime or Cambray and its accomplices , published in 1837.

Biography

François-Réal Angers is a good representing of this small French-speaking Bourgeoisie of liberal professions which is in full growth with the Low-Canada during the first four decades of the 19th century, dominating the political culture of the colony. Widower since August 29th, 1849 of Louise-Adele Taschereau, it remarie within an other influential family in the legal and political mediums, Panet , while marrying with Quebec, on November 23rd, 1853, Louise Panet (1830-1894), girl of the lawyer Charles Panet, appointed preserving with the legislative Parliament of Quebec of 1858 to 1861, niece of Philippe Panet, judge with the Court of Appeal of Quebec as well as notary Louis Panet, member of the Legislative council of Quebec, then senator. From this second bed are born two boys and a girl.

One of its nephews is the poet and journalist William Chapman.

He dies in Quebec the Quebec on March 27th, 1860 and is buried four days later with Point-with-Tremble
