François-Mathurin Gourvès

François-Mathurin Gourvès , was born the June 17th 1929 with Plougastel-Daoulas (Finistere) from François Gourvès, farmer, and Genevieve Gourvès, born Thomas.

He makes the small seminar of Bridge-Cross, Grand seminar of Quimper, Gregorian Université of Rome, catholic Institut and Institute of political studies.

Laid off in Théologie, it is on April 6th, 1953 that it is ordered priest for the diocese of Quimper. Vicar with Landerneau of 1954 to 1957; chaplain diocesan of the JOC/F of 1957à 1967; student in Paris of 1967 to 1969 in Institut of social sciences of work; priest senior of Saint-Saver in Brest of 1969 to 1975; general vicar of 1975 to 1989; general secretary of the Social Committee of the episcopate of 1989 to 1991; it becomes Evêque of Valves on February 24th, 1992 (named 3 months earlier) and then adds François in front of his first name.

In September 1996, it is at the origin of the arrival of the Holy Father in France. First Pope to press the Breton ground, with Holy-Anne-with Auray, only place now known or Holy-Anne, mother of Marie, Large Mother of Christ, would have appeared, Jean-Paul II holds a speech to with it on the families returned in the history. This voyage marks even a turning in its 27 years of pontificate, one year before JMJ in France.

1996, it is also the year, for Mgr Gourvès to attach its radios diocésaines, then 3, with the network RCF.

In 2006, the pope Benoit XVI, having accepted the resignation of the pastoral load of bishop of Valves which Mgr François-Mathurin Gourvès for health reasons presented to him, in accordance with gun 401.1 of the canonical code of right, named to succeed to him Mgr Raymond Centène on Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Monseigneur François-Mathurin Gourvès is then Evêque highly skilled of the diocese of Valves since October 16th, 2005, date of ordiantion of his successor.
