François-Joel Thiollier

François-Joel Thiollier is a pianist and musician. From French nationality and American, it was born with Paris.

It gives its first concert to New York at the 5 years age, then it studies in France with Robert Casadesus. Of return to the United States, it enters the class of Sascha Gorodnitzki off to the Juilliard School Music, of which it leaves at the age record eighteen years, having obtained the First Price in all matters, as well university as musical.

François-Joel Thiollier gained eight international “Grands Prix”, in particular one 6th price with the international Concours Tchaïkovski in 1966 and one 6th price with the international musical Concours Queen-Elisabeth-of-Belgium in 1968.

François-Joel Thiollier was named Officier of Arts and Lettres in 2003.

Thiollier recorded more than 40 discs in a repertory including/understanding Scriabine, Franz Liszt, Mozart and for RCA, Beethoven, Brahms, etc

Gouvy: Complete works for violin and piano with Jean-Pierre Wallez published in 2003 for K 617. In first world “Imagination for piano and orchestra” of max of Ollone (Claves) “Shock of the Music” of the World of the Music (October 2003) “gold Tuning fork discovered” of the review Tuning fork (November 2003). In 2007, for Naxos, the integral of Saint-Saens for violoncello and piano with Maria Kliegel.
