François-Frederic Guy
François-Frederic Guy , born the January 23rd 1969 with Vernon (the Eure), is a Pianiste French.
He was received with the Conservatoire of Paris at the 16 years age. It was formed there by Dominique Merlet and Christian Ivaldi.
Since his beginnings at the sides of the Orchestra of Paris under the direction of Wolfgang Sawallisch, while passing by one 2nd of Prokofiev with Esa-Pekka Salonen and Philharmonia, and his recording live of the 2nd Concerto of Brahms with Paavo Berglund and London Philharmonic, François-Frederic Guy knew to impose, without haste, nor impatience, a strong personality. Its passion for the opera and the symphonic music going from pair with a certain taste for danger, it makes the choice, in the ocean of the repertory pianistic, the most complex works. This requirement and this capacity for communication of a musical thought teacher distinguished it among the rare pianists. Since 1997, its recording of Hammerklavier testifies some, confirmed by discs Prokofiev, Brahms and Liszt.
It has happiness to play under the direction of Bernard Haitink, Neeme Järvi, Michael Tilson Thomas or Daniel Harding. He is the guest of orchestras prestigious like City off Birmingham, N.D.R Hamburg, Berliner S.O, Tonhalle Zurich, Helsinki Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Japan Philharmonic, Orchestre of Paris or Philharmonic of Radio-France. He occurs in recital within the framework of international series in Queen Elizabeth Hall of London, in the Kennedy Center of Washington, the Philharmonic society of Cologne or the Philharmonic society of Berlin. He also plays within prestigious festivals like City off London, the Castling of Anthéron, Varsovia Summer Festival, or Milano Musica.
François-Frederic Guy is very close to the type-setters to today like Ivan Fedele, Marc Monnet or Gerard Pesson. The French type-setter Hugues Dufourt has just dedicated an important part to him whose he gave world creation to Paris, in October 2006. It is with Esa-Pekka Salonen and Philharmonia that it makes its beginnings with the PROM' S of London in August 2006.
Last September, it published a new disc devoted to the Sonatas Pathetic, Hammerklavier, and opus 49 n°1 of Beethoven. During the next seasons, François-Frederic Guy will play the integral of the 32 Sonatas of Beethoven, as well as the 5 concertos for piano with the Philharmonic orchestra of Radio-France under the direction of Philippe Jordan.
