The framing , in the Sports of combat, is a technique known as of operation of the adversary intended to prevent it from overflowing, i.e. to escape on the sides. The goal of the operation of framing is to keep the adversary in a geographical sector favorable to an offensive (put remotely operating target and range), to drive back it with the cords to work it (one speaks to immobilize the opponent) or to let it S escape to gather it at the time of its escape (concept of trap or more precisely of “trap”). One speaks, in this case, of “false-framing”.

The usual procedure of framing is the following one:
  1. “to press” the opponent towards the cords,
  2. then “to center its variations” it to prevent from escaping and it “to work”. E.g.: to attack targets (to sap) or “to cut the road”,

The means of steam pressing are: steps of progression, steps on side and the blows (shows, threats, intimidation, rush or kicks…) in the direct axis.

The means of centring are the steps on side and the attacks carried out laterally (one says “to cut the road”). E.g.: to bring the opponent in the corner by exerting a steam pressing then “to cut to him the road” during a release to prevent that it escapes on the sides in order to work it closely.

As regards the techniques of escape: at the time of one enfermement in a corner or of tightening on the cords, or during an escape one speaks about technique about release. See also immobilization, escape and placement of the adversary.
