Fraiburgo

Fraiburgo is a city Brésil ienne of the western of the State of Santa Catarina. It is located at a Latitude of 27º 01 ' 34" south and with a Longitude of 50º 55 ' 17" west. Its Altitude is of: 1048 meters. Its population is estimated at: 37604 inhabitants in 2006. The municipality extends on 546 km ².

It is located at 380 km in the west of Florianópolis, the capital of the State.

General information

Fraiburgo is known like the national capital of the Pomme. This fruit constitutes the base of the economic activity of the municipality which provides 60% of the production of apple of the Santa Catarina and 40% of the national production. One also produced Honey there, with more than 15.000 hives.

Every year, towards the end of March - at the beginning of April, the festival is held to with it of the Apple ( Festa da Maçã ).
