Frañsez Kervella
Frañsez Kervella , with the civil statue François-Marie Kervella, born with Dirinon in 1913, died with Lannion in 1992, also known under its , pen name Kenan Kongar, is a geologist and a French writer of Breton language, and especially a Grammairien of the Breton. It took part in the review Gwalarn.
Childhood and youth
It is war orphan, and it is high in a very poor family where the Breton is the only practiced language. After scientific studies, it becomes Géologue and made prospection in Africa (Gabon and Ivory Coast).
Second world war
Its library is plundered following the decree announcing the dissolution of the Breton National Parti, the October 20th 1939.In 1940, it takes part in Berlin with the Bretonische Regierung. Olier Mordrel describes in its book Breiz Atao (p. 265) the attempt at constitution of auxiliary troops of the armies of invasion: can you, asks it, to recruit among your prisoners of the sure elements, to precede our columns in their progression towards Brittany and in Brittany? Anna Debauvais testimony of the activity of Kongar-Kervella ( Memories of the Breton chief: Fransez Debauvais , volume 3, p. 85): Helloco succeeds in passing (...) towards the office of Berlin. (...) It takes part in the reform of the Orthographe unified of Breton the in 1941 and is member of the Celtic Institut in 1942.
After the war
In 1947, it marries Yvette Dret (Ivetig year Dred-Kervella). With his wife, it was devoted actively to the promotion of the Breton language, collaborating in several reviews, of which Barr-Heol and Al Liamm. Children: Riwanon Kervella, Divi Kervella.
