Geographical and demographic description
The fourth district of the Sarthe is delimited by the electoral Découpage of the law n°86-1197 of the November 24th 1986 , it gathers the following administrative divisions:
- Canton of Awls
- Canton of Brûlon
- Canton of Rented
- Canton of the Malicorne-on-Sarthe
- Canton of the Mans-West
- Canton of Sablé-sur-Sarthe
- Canton of the Suze-on-Sarthe.
According to the general Census of the population in 1999, carried out by the National institute of the Statistics and Economic studies (INSEE), the total population of this district is estimated at 101308 habitants, .
